Tecnoreef
modules are made from reinforced concrete. They
are manufactured using only natural components
and do not contain synthetic
additives. They may be assembled in a variety
of combinations to create stable
artificial reef structures on sea or lake beds.
The basic Tecnoreef
module consists of an octagonal slab with circular
holes within the structure itself. The walls of
these holes are inclined inwards. The slabs are
connected together
to form either a simple pyramid - the basic system
- or more complex
pyramidal structures.
The Tecnoreef
system consists of three modules, which
are interconnected by special fittings and
secured with only 3
bolts. The result is a remarkably strong
and stable small
pyramidal structure.
The basic
Tecnoreef modules are rapidly and simply
assembled in groups of three, to create
small pyramidal structures.Adding a second,
third and more layers on top of this first
layer of elements is a simple
matter. Any type of craft, from a rubber
dinghy to a pontoon, with or without a crane,
can be used to transport Tecnoreef modules. All
operations, from loading the modules onto
the boat to installation
in the water, can be performed by a group
of three divers. The Tecnoreef system can
be assembled on the surface and then positioned
on the sea or lake bed, or the modules can
be positioned on the bed individually and
then assembled.
Each individual operation requires little
time and consists in either laying modules
side by side or on top of each other and
then tightening the securing nuts and bolts.
